N-acetyl-l-carnitine
  • Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) is a molecule composed of L-carnitine and acetic acid bound together. L-carnitine is made in the body from the amino acids methionine and lysine. ALC is structurally related to acetylcholine, a major neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) involved in memory and normal brain function. Due to this structural similarity, ALC is predominantly used to treat neurological conditions
  • ALC feeds the mitochondria, the powerhouse of almost all of the body’s cells and facilitates the release of energy from our cells
  • Assists in preventing age-related, oxidative damage effects on the brain’s neurons and has helped those with pain due to peripheral neuropathies
  • It’s neuroprotective factors have demonstrated encouraging results in studies with patients who have neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease, slowing down the progression of these conditions

  • The stinging, spiny hairs on the nettle plant release histamine and formic acid when the plant comes into contact with the skin. However, when they come into contact with an area that is already in pain the chemicals actually decrease the original pain
  • The specific active constituent responsible for nettles’ healing properties has not yet been identified. For that reason the whole plant extract is used as it traditionally has been used for centuries
  • Used for hay fever, urinary problems, BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia or enlarged prostate), and joint pain
  • Nettles is a powerful histamine and is found in Natures Sunshine HistaBlock.

  • Believed to have properties that improve the ability to adapt to stressors by influencing the levels and activity of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in different structures in the brain
  • It may be that the plant inhibits the breakdown of these chemicals and facilitates the neurotransmitter transport within the brain
  • Has been reported to increase the chemicals that provide energy to the heart muscle and to prevent the depletion of adrenal catecholamines induced by acute stress
